Lift Engineer / Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Caltech Lifts is a family-owned lift and stairlift business operating from its head office in Dundee covering Scotland and Nothern England. Caltech was established in 1978 and due to continued expansion we are recruiting another lift engineer to join our team. We require either a time served, NVQ/SVQ Level 3 qualified and experienced lift engineer or a multi skilled maintnenace enigneer with excellent knowledge of industrial electrical fault finding and who is both willing and driven to be trained as a lift engineer. The engineer will join our team carrying out routine servicing, repairs both scheduled and unscheduled.  They will attend callouts during working hours and carry out on-call duties as per the scheduled on-call rota to all makes and models of passenger lifts, disabled access lifts, goods lifts and stairlifts that are within the Caltech portfolio.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine servicing on passenger lifts, goods lifts, service lifts, platform/disabled access lifts and stairlifts
  • Attend callouts during working hours and when on-call attending out of hours.
  • Partake in on-call rota to provide call out service out of office hours (typically 1 in 5)
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding to diagnose faults with lift.  
  • Perform minor/major repairs to various lifting types as stated above.
  • Perform thorough examinations and supplementary tests where required.
  • Contact clients to arrange appropriate times to carry out service or repairs.
  • Must be committed to all aspects of the health & safety of self and others
  • Display a strong knowledge and respect for the environment

Candidate & Qualifications:

  • NVQ/SVQ Level 3 Lift Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Good level of lift industry experience – fault finding both electrically and mechanically.
  • Alternatively, relevant experience in fault finding on industrial machinery.
  • Electrical fault finding knowledge on machinery is essential.
  • Commitment to first class Customer Service
  • Self motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proven track record within the lift industry is preferable
  • Punctual , honest and Reliable
  • High work ethic
  • Full driving licence

Working hours - Mon-Thurs 08:30-17:00, Fri 08:30-16:30           

Salary paid monthly at competitive industry rates with overtime at 1.5 x hourly rate
